Resolve Psychotherapy

michelleI, Michelle Lines, am a Clinical  Psychotherapist and I work primarily with Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and specialise in the whole spectrum of Anxiety and Depressive disorders in Children, Adolescents and Adults. In addition to my Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Counselling Psychology, I also have a two year Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Play Therapy which I use when treating children.

I have built up a vast experience by working with the NHS Mental Health Unit in the UK and with the Place2Be organisation which is the leading UK provider of school-based mental health support. I have also run my own private practice from The Westlake Clinic in Harley Street and Royal Tunbridge Wells. My experience is further enhanced by providing supervision and training to other professionals (including psychotherapists, GP’s, School Nurses and Health Visitors).

I am a member of the BPS (British Psychological Society) , BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), IATP (International Association of Trauma Professionals), and the CNHC (Complimentary and Natural Healthcare Council) and I am bound by their strict ethical codes and guidelines. These memberships ensure that I have studied to the required level and that I am practicing in a safe and ethical way. I also have a yearly DBS (police check) which ensures that I am safe to work with vulnerable children and adults

My primary passion is the motivation and development of children, adolescents and adults. I strive to help people achieve their most significant goals and realise their true potential. I approach each person as an individual. Many people might have similar problems, nonetheless that does not mean that the same thing will work for all of them. Everyone creates and perceives their issues in a unique way, and I use a range of techniques from a number of different disciplines, put together in a particular way to suit the way you think. Nothing I know works on everybody, but everything I know works on somebody, so I adapt my approach to fit you, not hope that you can adapt yourself to fit me.

My practices’ aim is to offer a professional, confidential and supportive therapy service that deals with your issues and guides you to your own personal solutions in the shortest possible time. More and more people, both in their private and professional lives are seeking more productive, alternative and creative solutions which will result in them achieving a better life. Using the empowering combination of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Schema Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Play Therapy and advanced Neuro-Linguistic Programming techniques, working together, I can create your bespoke outcomes more quickly than you might imagine…

When I work with children and adolescents I am dedicated to providing specialist, effective, and thorough psychological assessment and support for teenagers and children experiencing anxiety (fears, phobias, worry, and obsessions), anger issues, ADHD,many other behavioural issues and depressive disorders. My practice  also provides support and guidance for the parents, carers and families of these children and young people.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy is a form of psychotherapy I use wherein the client and I work together as a team to identify and solve problems. I use the Cognitive Model to help my clients overcome their difficulties by changing their thinking, behaviour, and emotional responses. I also use insights from a range of psychological and therapeutic disciplines, including Schema Therapy, Positive Psychology and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing). This means I have a wide range of tools and techniques to utilize in helping you to solve your problem.

I specialise in treating Depression and Anxiety which includes Panic Disorders, Generalised Anxiety Disorder, Social Anxiety, Eating Disorders, OCD, Phobias, Post- Traumatic Stress Disorders, etc. Please find out more about who I work with, the issues I deal with and how I do that by clicking on the menu tab at the top of the page.
